A somewhat different perspective on the same issue. Why should someone take a full-time crappy job that doesn’t pay them enough to live on?

Some people are outraged that someone would rather not work at all than take a terrible full-time job that still didn’t pay them enough to support themselves.

When I say that everyone who works full time deserves to earn enough to survive without welfare, I’ve had people say, “No, they should just work two full-time crappy jobs.” Let’s see: 16 hours work, 8 hours sleep. NO life.

I don’t think that’s a reasonable position, and I have a difficult time criticizing someone who would choose not to work at all when the only other option is to take a crappy job that won’t pay him enough to live on anyway.
