Adam, you put numbers to what I’ve been saying for some time — this dog won’t hunt. How this company is even going to break even is a huge question. Add to that how it’s going to make enough money to repay the billions already lost and you’re got a real puzzler. So far, this looks to me like the latest iteration of WebVan, not Amazon.

I wrote a column where I ran the numbers from the drivers’ perspective and concluded that on a net basis most of them were receiving less than minimum wage. I called them the modern-day equivalent of sharecroppers, namely, Shareworkers. — David Grace
