Beyond everything you said, Americans view the desires of vastly wealthy corporations as more important than the prosperity and freedom of humans. The real focus of libertarian and conservative dogma is the idea that corporations have as much of a right to power and wealth as people, and, in fact, that in any contest between the power and wealth of one corporation and the prosperity and freedom of a million humans, they want the corporation to win.

I said in a post that it is as if a force of ultra-smart alien robots conquered the earth and a bunch of humans turncoats switched sides and went over to the robots, doing everything they could to increase the robots’ hold over humanity.

Substitute public corporations for Alien Robots and libertarians for human turncoats and here we are.
