Do the numbers. Raising the minimum wage would increase the cost of a $.99 burger to about $1.40 or less. Trivial effect.

Automation is expensive, not just to install but to maintain and repair, all of which requires workers. Also, people have to design, manufacture, transport, install, etc. those machines. All work someone has to pay people to do.

It’s ridiculous and unnecessary to give money to everyone. Instead you employ those people who are unemployed at a living wage. I say exactly how that would work in the article I cited.

You don’t convince business to pay taxes. You elect a government that imposes reasonable taxes and you make corps pay them.

BTW, corp taxes make up only a small part of the budget, about $343 billion compared to about $1.5 Trillion for the income tax. Corp taxes are not going to be a major player in government revenue. You could double them and they would still only be about half what is collected in income taxes.
