Scott, Though I think guaranteed living wage jobs not UBI is the better solution, I agree with almost everything else you said. I say many of the same things you did when I write about the necessity for a living minimum wage.

I remind people that if they want less gov’t spending, less bureaucracy, lower taxes, less “welfare” then raise the minimum wage so that working people can support themselves. They don’t care. The opponents have a moral position that it’s “wrong” to pay people more than their labor is “worth” and that’s as far as their brains go.

We’re not engaged in a logical discussion on these topics. We fighting a political religion.
