Thanks DJB for your comment. I agree with a lot of what you said.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with people who pass a gun-safety class and pass a background check owning a registered sporting firearm or a hand gun for self protection. When I was a boy I took and passed an NRA gun-safety class and I still have that gun, a .22 caliber, bolt-action, 6-shot magazine rifle.

I do have a big problem with people who don’t pass a background check and have never been trained in gun safety owning semi-automatic weapons with large magazines.

That’s like letting untrained people without a driver’s license and a couple of drunk-in-public convictions drive an unregistered Monster Truck around the elementary school. — David Grace
