Thanks for a great column. For me, “intuitive” really means “pre-trained.” Green for go and red for stop is intuitive because traffic lights have already trained us that way. Accelerator on the right, brake on the left, is intuitive for the same reason.
Using a Kindle has trained lots of people that a stick-figure-house icon means “go to the Home screen.” So, why do Android phones use a small circle as the Home icon? It seems to me that is a failure of “intuitive” design. Am I wrong?
